                         Little Rosa

Little Rosa tumbled about in her bed trying to reach comfort.

She tried to wrap her feather-blanket around herself and coiled under it, but it was all in vain, she just couldn´t fall asleep.

Her mamma had read her a lovely children-story as always, helped her say the prairs and asking God to look after dad who was with him now and to help cure him.

Then she bid her good night, kissed her forehead, put the light out, and left the room silently.

Rosa had a frequent chat with god in her mind and believed that the answers she could hear in her head were from Him.

She had the feeling that when she'd ask him whether she should do something, then she'd either get a good feeling or a bad one and then she knew what to do.

She followed these feelings or instincts perfectly and was really quite satisfied with the resolution.

This night she began speculating whether she could chat in this way with her dad, for the reason that he was staying up there with God.

She finally stepped from under her blanket, creeping towards the window where she looked up into the star-lit heaven.

-Is my daddy definitly up there by your side, she asked God in her mind.

-Yes my dear, she was certain God was telling her.

-Is he feeling much better now?

-Yes, he's quite cured now.

-My mamma says that sometimes you take people who you really need to have by your side and I can understand that, but I really need my dad terribly.

Didn't you think about that?

There was a moment's silence.

Then God answered her with another question.

-Haven't you ever speculated Rosa dear, that I were also teaching you something by making you lose your dad?

Rosa gave these words a lot of thought, could it be that God was teaching us who still are living, something by letting us miss the one we loved the most?

Of course that could be right, for example she could understand how little Gugga felt when

God had to use her mamma.

She had come to the resolution that it would be terribly bad losing one's mamma, but she couldn't have known how awfully great changes losing a parent have on one's life, until now.

She looked up to the stars.

-Does daddy see me now, she asked God.

-Yes my dear, and he's with you both, your mamma and yourself.

-That's good, Rosa said, then he could comfort her, for she cries so much in the evening, when she believes I'm not able to hear her sobbing.

-Yes little Rosa, it always takes a long time coming to terms with the loss of a loved one, but you'll learn to live with it and to realise that he/she is by my side.

Do you understand that?

-I'll try, Rosa said, but I just wanted you to know that I needed him in my life too, but if you're teaching me something with this, you must be teaching my mamma too, right?

-Yes of course my dear, everyone learns of events like this.

-Could I speak to my pabbi (dad) like I've been speaking to you, Rosa asked.

-Yes of course, this is some how mirrored in your head, and you dream of him sometimes, don't you?

-Yes how right you are, Rosa answered.

Tell me, is everything beautiful up in Heaven?

-Yes, it is very beautiful, a lot of children, animals and pretty flowers.

The colours are also a lot prettier here, but no-one's allowed to come hereto, unless I do call on him or her helping them to reach all the way to Heaven.

Do you understand me?

You must not try to come hereto, despite of your strong wish to see your pabbi, you understand that don't you?

-Yes I know that, but in my mind I can see him and I do dream of him and if I could speak to him like I'm speaking to you, then I'd be feeling a lot better.

-Perhabs your pabbi will bring you hereto in one of your dreams thus enabling you to witness the beauty here in Heaven.

-Would I be able to see you too?

-No my dear I'm afraid not, only your pabbi, the children, the animals and flowers.

-Do you know, Rosa begins, that my mamma has got a big swelling on her stomach and she tells me that there's a little baby inside her, it being pabbi's last present for us?

-Yes my dear I'm awear of that, and I also know that you will be a tremendously nice big sister.

-Yes that's for sure, Rosa says, if someone's going to hurt the little child then I will take care of it.

No jugglers will get the chance of coming too close to my sister or brother.

-Yes I know you'll protect it as much as you're able to my dear, and you should be grateful that your parents were able to put a new life in your mother's oven, before your pabbi became so sick.

But now I think you should go to sleep my dear, so that you won't be tired in the morning.

-Yes dear God, you have a good night and thank you for chatting with me.

-Good night little Rosa.

Rosa speculated for a moment, before she kissed her finger and blew it to the stars:

-Good night my pabbi, God's looking out for you.

Then she returned to her bed and cuddled herself in the featherblanket, but when she closed her eyes and got the strange feeling of being touched softly on the forehead and a soft breeze touching her cheek, she believed that her pabbi had just kissed her good night and caressed her cheek.

Rosa awakened early in the morning feeling better than the preceding day.

She jumped out of bed, took the clean underwear her mamma had put on the chair in her room and entered the bathroom.

She brushed her teeth well, closely each tooth, took a shower, dried herself, put her clothes on and then she did her best combing her hair.

She found it difficult for she had awfully curly hair, something that wasn't "in" at the moment so she did her best holding them curls down with the brush whilst they became dry, but no dice for when the hair was dry they all seemed to spring out in an uncontrollable way, happy to be free again.

Jenna who sat infront of her in school had such pretty hair, straight as a mirror, and Rosa envied her.

When her hair had dried she looked into the mirror:

Too curly blond hair, brown eyes that didn't go with the colour of her hair and so on.

Her mamma said that some say she would be thankful for her curles and then other girls will envy her, believe it or not.

When I grow up having my own kids, I would like them either to have blond hair and blue eyes or dark hair and brown eyes, she thought to herself .

Then she stopped thinking about that, finished dressing and went down to the kitchen, where her mamma had prepared her breakfast.

She made a little wry face over the fish-oil, but realized at the same time it didn't really taste so bad, besides how good it was for her health.

The frowning just seemed to be somehow appropriate.

Mamma had prepared provisions for her to take to school and she kissed her goodbye before she left.

The school's close to her home and she liked being there.

Once again she watched Jenna's hair with admiration, finding it so very pretty.

There was something in school that really bothered her:

One of her school-mates was fat, had thick glasses, didn´t really dress neatly and the kids were always teasing him.

She had tried to become his friend, but it seemed like he couldn't trust any kids, but nevertheless she had the feeling that their relationship was becoming better, especially once when she turned to him for help solving a math-problem.

The reason not being that she didn't understand it, but she wanted to give him some self-esteem, letting him believe that he knew something better than she for example.

He became a little astounded but said:

Well I could assist you of course, but don't you think the others will start teasing you when they see us two talking together.

I don't really mind, she told him.

Arni didn't really believe a word of what she'd said, but nevertheless he did move his chair towards her table before he helped her solving the problem.

And the teasing began of course:

-Rosa loves Spectacle Fat-Arni hahahahaha, the kids began yelling at them.

How is it Rosa, can't you find a cuter boy to love, they yelled in her track.

Arni got his part of the teasing, but as he was used to it he acted as he didn't hear them.

-Rosa and Arni are lovers, "ligga ligga lau"!

-We aren't lovers, Rosa told them, but we are friends and we would like you to leave us alone.

The kids looked at her in wonder; what made her like this nerd?

She who was one of the prettiest girls in the class.

-Just act as you can't hear them, Arni told her, they just can't agree with you talking with me and if you're bothered with it I'll leave you alone?

-I sure wouldn't like that, she said, they aren't any better than you and I'd like you to be my friend.

Surprised Arni:

How's that, are you telling me that you like me?

-Yes, Rosa told him, I've been following you lately and I must say that most of these kids would break down if they were treated the way they have been treating you.

That just shows me how intelligent and kind you really are, such a strong boy and I like that in a boy.

From then on they chatted a lot in school, becoming good friends.

Having the consequence that he became happier having made a friend at last.

Rosa was feeling better also, the kids didn't tease him as much as they used to, and stopped calling names in their track.

But when her usual group of friends became smaller, she convinced herself that those kids hadn't really been good friends, so she didn't really mind.

With time Rosa became better aware of Arni's qualities;

he was intelligent, nice and funny and when his shyness deminished they began enjoying each other's company.

He had a great respect for her and she knew she could tell him about things she hadn't told anyone else about.

She didn't stop chatting with God, and when she told Him about Arni, He told her that it had been very nice of her to give this lonely boy her friendship.

Once after school when she was walking home, she decided to make an attempt of speaking to her pabbi.

- Pabbi, she concentrated with all her mind, my pabbi, can you hear me?

Nobody seemed to be listening, wasn't pabbi up there, but she didn't lose her hope;

pabbi, oh dear pabbi, can you hear me?

-Yes my little turnip, of course I'm able to hear you.

These words concinded Rosa her pabbi was there, for nobody else called her turnip.

Tears appeared in her eyes, but she was able to hold back:

- I miss you so much!

-I'm awear of that my dear, but I do spend a lot of my time with you and mamma, trying my best in your safe-keeping.

The only drag is that you aren't able to see me, but I can see you both.

I'm very proud of you my dear and like very much your new friend, Arni, who shows that you don't go by the outer appearance when choosing your friends, for as we both know it's what's inside that really proves who your real friends are.

-He's a nice boy, but has been living an uneasy life, for he has never had any true friends until now.

-My pabbi dear, I must thank you for the present you left inside mamma's stomach, the little baby who'll soon come out.

-We did it together, your mamma and I and probably with a good hand from God, but nevertheless you'll soon be getting a new sibling and then your mamma will be feeling a lot better, having to care for a small baby not forgetting a big and lovely daughter to assist her.

-Yes dear pabbi I will surely do my best.

-There's something I must confess to you my little Rosa, that before I became sick and "died" as you call it, which really doesn't mean that I disappear completely, for the truth is that I only got transported to another place and body which's exactly like my old one, and because that only a few living people are able to see us it doesn't mean that we have disappeared from your lives completely.

We're invincible, but we're able to follow and protect you as much as we can, but the thing is that it really lies with you whether you react to our warnings or not, or the instincts we give you about every problem you'll face.

When you were telling me that you were able to chat with God in your mind and also get right answers the same way, I didn't really believe you, eventhough I acted as I did and told you to keep it up, as long as you were sincere in your chatting with God, finding it to be good for you.

But now I must beg your pardon my dear, for I really didn't believe a word of what you were telling me, eventhough I did consider it a good way for you when you were deciding between right and wrong.

But now my dear, I realize that you were telling me the truth and that you're able to develop your connection if you'll like to and that later you'll be able to see us as well.

All small children are borne with this ability, but most people lose it just as more and more worldly things fill their minds.

You seem to have kept your ability and therefore you will be able to develop it more and the ability will grow with the years, as long as you won't turn your back on this talent of yours, do you understand what I mean?

-Yes pabbi dear, I do understand that very well and so I will keep on chatting with you, but will you promise to take me in a dream up there so I could see with my own eyes what I'm allowed to see?

-Yes my dear, certainly I'll do that sometime, but the truth is that myself haven't learned everything as yet, but this I promise you.

-Thank you dear pabbi, but now I'll have to say goodbye to you for the moment for I've returned home and there I can see mamma standing in the door waiting for me, do you see her also?

-Yes of course I can, her having become so thick and beautiful because of the little baby that will be coming soon.

-Hello mamma, Rosa called out to her, I'm home.

-Hello my dear, there's some milk and bread waiting for you in the kitchen, how was school today?

-Alright, Rosa replied, I got a compliment for my essay.

-That's nice to hear, mamma said, you're doing very well in school, and I'm very pleased with that.

-I was speculating about whether you were opposed to me going home with Arni tomorrow, for we're planning to do our homework together.

-Hummm, mamma said, won't you just be playing and fooling around?

-No, certainly not, he's very hard-working and wouldn't like to be like some novice in school.

-Alright, mamma said, we'll just see how it goes.

-Thank you mamma mia, little Rosa said and gallopped into the kitchen for her afternoon-snack.

Having nourished she started doing her home-work.

-Hey mamma?

-Yes dear?

-I'm having some trouble writing the pretty letter "đ".

Can you help me?

-I'll try, mamma said and came to her.

What is it dear, it's perfect, if you'll just make this stroke a little longer.

-Oh, like this, Rosa asked?

-Exactly, mamma said, there you have a beautiful "đ".

-Thank you mamma mia, I'll remember that.

Having done her home-work, Rosa visited her girlfriend and they played with their Barbies.

It was quite nice being with Lisa the friend who lives next door.

They are the same age but don't share the class in school.

-I heard that you and Fat-Arni had become great friends, is that true, Lisa asked.

-That's right, Rosa answered, but I don't find it nice calling him Fat-Arni, for it's not his fault being a little fat and he's really a nice boy and fun to be with when you come to know him.

-I find that hard to believe, Lisa said, but if you say so, ok then.

-You should not judge people by their appearance, Rosa said.

If you'll do that, then you might as well miss meeting good and merry people but instead you might sit up with the beautiful but dull people, am I right or am I right?

-I hadn't really given it a thought, Lisa said haven put up an intelligent face, but you're probably right.

-Soon my mamma will be having the little baby, Rosa said, and I'm so tensed I'm about to explode.

-Whether would you want a boy or a girl, Lisa asked.

-I don't really care, but if it's a boy, I hope he'll have my father's looks, for he's the prettiest and best man that I've ever met.

-Yes that would be nice, Lisa said, but if it's a girl?

-Then I'd want her to be like my mamma, Rosa said, but added after some speculation, that she would have to have a smooth hair.

Lisa laughed, you and your hair, you don't know that I'd like to have hair like you have, hahahaha.

-Ye you're babbling, Rosa said and laughed with her, but it's what I'd wanted.

-But do you know what, Lisa said, I know that you're fond of Jenny, her being so beautiful that everybody wants to be with her, but the thing is that she backbites people.

I happened to be in the toilet the other day when she was making fun of Brynja who believes they're good friends.

She said that Brynja was a nerd and dull to be with, but she liked pretending being her friend, because then Brynja told her all about her secrets, like how badly her parents were quarelling and more.

One wouldn't like to tell anyone about matters like that, but if you do you'd just trust your best friend, wouldn't you?

Not expecting it to go any further, and therefore I believe you're when you state;

that you shouldn't judge people by their appearance, but rather the disposition, do you understand me?

-Yes, Rosa agreed, she had been startled a little for she'd believed Jenny was the perfect girl, everyone wanting to be with her and all the boys having a crush on her, she being so beautiful.

-But, Lisa stated, the thing is that you could also find beautiful people who are nice and ugly people who are bad, you see, but I'd really like to come acquainted with Arni your new friend, for there really must be something nice about him, and you being so fond of him.

-Yes you can take it for granted, Rosa said. He's a very humorous boy and knows so much.

He's had so much time for reading and learning, what we're not even learning in school yet, like astrology and history to name a few.

I´m sure you're coming to like him too.

He's namely had unlimited time to read, for he's never had any friends.

For that reason, when we're older and have started to learn about all this, then he'll know more about it than we, eg. about Claudius, Cleopatra, Cesar, The Roundtable with all the knights;

King Richard and his men.

We will learn about it in school later on, but he knows it already.

-I see, Lisa said, now I really would like to come acquainted with him.

Couldn´t you introduce us and then the three of us could become friends?

-I´d really like that, Rosa said and decided to introduce them to one another, it surely would do Arni good to get more friends and she trusted Lisa to be good to him.

In the evening she tried to chat with her pabbi.

-Pabbi?

Pabbi dear?

Can you hear me now?

-Yes my dear I'm with you through God and I know that you are going to ask me about Arni and Lisa.

Yes I like it my dear, for Lisa is a good girl and will become a good friend of his, just as you have done.

I think it worst of all when kids pick on someone in their group because they don't find him pretty enough, or are always teasing him.

But if Arni will get friends he'll do better, and perhabs the kids will stop teasing him, thus giving him more self esteem, you know.

But you should find him some malefriends also, so he won´t be called a sissy or something just as bad.

He might feel that you're just befriending him because you feel sorry for him, and that would be very bad for him, don't you understand my dear?

-Yes pabbi dear, I do understand that and will surely try and find him some boy-friends.

-Yes I know that my turnip, you do understand how it is and I'm really proud of you.

-Thank you pabbi dear.

Do you know when the baby is due?

-Yes some notion about it, just as your mamma does as well, so you should just ask her, because I'm not allowded to tell.

-OK, oh I shouldn´t say that, or should I?

I should say "all right", or ain't that right?

We should think about our tongue you used to say all the time.

In her opinion pabbi's laughing when he says:

Yes dear do try if you can, but I do understand it if you or anyone else makes mistakes.

-Thanks my pabbi.

I'll try my best not blending foreign words into our tongue.

I love you so much, and miss you so terribly that I´m sure you don't comprehend, and it goes for mamma too.

-Yes my dear I do comprehend, but this is just how life is and we must take it as it is.

-Tell me one thing pabbi, when little babies, don't they become awfully scared, you know, losing mum and dad and all?

-No my dear, every time when we're expecting a little child, a lovely lady which has its mum's appearance appears at its side and it enters a new home that looks like its old one and thus the child won't notice too many changes.

Do you understand how everything is perfect here at God's site?

-Jeminn ..is that true?

-Yes my dear this is the truth and the child gets the appropriate time to adjust and understand our language and so it will be very pleased staying with us, but yet it will get any chance to see its mamma and pabbi any time on Earth and try to comfort them.

Everything always goes very well and when I will take you for a visit in a dream, you will be able to see how happy the children are, playing with other children and animals.

Everything's so pretty here in Heaven and if someone becomes unhappy, the one gets help, do you understand what I´m saying?

-Yes, I do, Rosa replies, I do find it nice of God giving thought to such problems, but He does think about everything, doesn´t He?

-Yes my dear and everything that happens has a reason, believe you me.

-Yes I do and I do find everything a lot easier to understand now than before, thank you my dear pabbi.

-My dear Rosa!

You will be having a little problem soon, but you must remember that I will be with you along with God.

And if you'll act according to your true persuasion you'll be doing right and everything will go well.

-Thanks for the warning my pabbi and I will go by my persuasion.

-Yes my dear, but there's one thing I have wanted to tell you.

You mustn't confuse me with God, for He's the one who rules being the best and all of us others just act as He's told us do.

-Yes, I know what you're thinking.

-No my Rosa I haven't seen Him, but can feel Him and hear His wishes.

-Excuse me pabbi but are you allowed to tell me about the problem I'm going to have or will I just have to face it unprepared and trust in God?

-Yes my dear, but if you'll do that and will ask Him for help sincerely, then He'll help you.

I can tell you though, that you and your friends will go through some peril, but as long as you'll trust in God He will help you.

-Thank you dear pabbi for telling me about it, now I'll try to watch out.

In the coming days Rosa made an effort not to think much about the peril, because she believed thinking about it would rather make it happen.

She started looking for boys who'd want to be with them, her, Lisa and Arni.

At last she found one who had been a good friend before.

Steini he was called.

She approached him one day and began chatting with him.

He acted a little awkward to begin with, but then he asked her:

-How come you have a mind spending time with this Arni, not just you but Lisa too?

-The reason is that when I began chatting with him, I noticed instantly that he's a boy whom I could trust, nice and intelligent, Rosa replied.

-Well that's not what I see in him, besides no-one wants to play with him but you gals.

-OK, Rosa replied, come along with us when school's out today and then I'll show you how nice he really is.

-All right, Steini replied, but I can tell you something:

Jenna, Oli, Siggi, Bara and more kids are going to do a trick on you.

-We'll just see about that, Rosa replied, but suddenly she felt she didn't really find Jenna's hair so extremely beautiful any longer, because when you didn't have anything but good looks grounding your popularity, she didn't like it.

-Rosa, Arni and Lisa had found themselves a great and comfortable hiding-place, where they could chat together without being teased or interrupted.

It was an old boat which was tied down by the sea and nobody seemed to own.

Inside they were able to go aboard, having it really nice able to chat about anything that came to their minds.

Arni revealed to them that he was an ocean of all kinds of stories that were both suspenceful and academic and they liked a lot.

Rosa took Steini along with her to the kids and asked them whether he could join them.

-Yes of course, if he wants to, because with him we could create a secret society, Arni pointed out.

-That would be pleasant, the girls said and instantly they began finding a name for the society they were starting.

Steini enjoyed being with them and took part in finding a name for the society.

-How do you like "The Vikings" he asked in a shy way.

Arni liked it and so the girls did also.

And we'll have to have candles and matches thus making it possible to close the cabin, Arni said, and something to eat and drink when we get thirsty.

-Oh yes, the others called out in harmony.

Now the idea was becoming really exciting.

-Sometimes we could act like castaways, Steini put in, because then it would be very adventurous.

His suggestion got an instant applause.

-We could act as Sinbad the voyager and his crew, Arni added, for there were some women aboard with him and they had numerous adventures.

This idea was well taken by everyone.

-But then, Arni told them with a grave voice, we will have to make swords and shields for everyone.

-Wow, Lisa said, that will be difficult.

-No, Arni said, I really know how to do it and if Steini and you two will assist me it won't take such a long time.

-That would really be cool, Rosa said and became quite tensed, excited as she was.

The next days they spent making swords and shields for everyone, enjoying Arni's instruction and assistance.

Arni's mamma became absolutely thrilled when she learned that her son had at last made friends for the first time.

She made provisions for them just as the other mammas did and everybody was happy and having a nice time.

The boat became their headquarters, until Lisa's pabbi decided to make for them a tree-house, which is a small hut up in a tree with an attached rope-ladder which could be taken in if they so liked.

They were extremely satisfied with the hut and the boat as well, but never the less they did their homework also.

Because if they hadn't thought about their school-work, they wouldn't have been allowded to spend so much time together.

But then something came up....

Jenna and her friends heard a rumour about the new friends and decided to do a trick on them.

One afternoon when the four friends had locked themselves inside the cabin, Jenna and her friends crawled towards the boat, locked it on the outside and untied it from land.

Rosa and her friends noticed that something was going on up on the deck so they tried to open, but discovered the door had been locked from outside, the cabin was locked and they inside.

Now they had become a little worried, without giving it up, and called out:

-Who's there ????????

Hahahahaha, Jenna and co. laughed out loud, how are you going to get out?

Now the boat started to float from the shore and when Jenna and her friends noticed what they had done they themselves became worried.

The sea was too deep for them to wade out so they could pull it back.

It went farther and farther out to sea.

Tears appeared in Jenna's eyes as in some of her friends', for they were afraid.

If they did run for help, everyone would come to know what they'd done on the one hand, but the other problem was that the boat was old and leaky, unfit for sailing.

They followed how the boat was driven farther and farther from shore, without doing anything but being scared.

In the boat they were just a little afraid, for they didn´t really know how far from land they had gone.

Suddenly Arni who'd automatically become their leader turned to them:

-Kids, look at me, he started determiningly, now we must be calm and think out a good plan about what we could do, do you understand me?

-Yes, they anwered in chorus looking at him with eyes like questionmarks.

-We're floating out to sea now, but what's even worse must be the hole through which sea's leaking into the cabin, where we are locked inside.

Lisa was about to burst out crying, but Arni looked at her:

-Vikings or not, he asked the group?

-Yes, they replied self-assured after some thinking and Lisa stopped crying and decided to trust in Arni.

-All right, he said, because we can't bail out of the boat being locked inside we must break out somehow.

-Ok, but how, they wondered.

-Steini, let's look for some tools which we could use for breaking the lock.

They searched and searched, until Rosa came up with a large iron-rod.

-Could we use this, she asked?

-Yes, let me have it, Arni told her and having the rod in his hands he discovered it happened to be an old crowbar.

Now we're fit to break up the lock.

He put the ironbar under the hasp which was locked on the outside and they all put their weight on the bar doing their best in breaking it up.

For quite a long time in their opinion the hasp didn't give in, but all of a sudden they heard a crack giving them a hope.

-OK vikings, there's now or never, Arni called out and they pulled with all their hidden force, until the lock finally broke.

-Hooray, they called out and then hurried up on the deck.

Up on the deck they were so startled when they noticed how far from land they had gone, that they hardly could see the tricksters who waited on shore looking out on them with sheer freight.

-Heyyyyyyyyyyy, fetch us some help because the boat is sinking, Arni yelled out, having become the leader whom all of them relied on.

Jenna and her pack were just able to hear and understand the screaming, so they all ran to seek help.

-Now or never, Rosa thought, dear God.

Is this the peril You were warning me about?

-Yes my dear, now you must be very careful, not doing anything hasty, God replied her spiritually.

-Are you going to help us, Rosa thought?

-Yes dear Rosa, but then you must believe that I will do it for you.

-Kids, Rosa said, I do know about a way that never fails me, but we must all believe in it if we want it to work for us.

Then she told her friends about something she'd never told anyone but her parents about her chatting with God whenever she was in trouble.

They finally understood that asking God for assistance was the only way for them getting help, because the boat was sinking rapidly.

Therefore all of them praid to God for help, wholeheartedly.

They weren't able to see land anymore, because of the growing fog so they called out for help as loud as possible.

All of them had become wet up to their wastes, when they were able to hear a strong voice replying their calls.

-Is somebody out there?

-Yesssss, they screamed in their reply and were able to see a fisherman on a little boat in the mist sailing towards them.

-Oh good God thank you very much, they said in one voice automatically.

The fisherman closed in on their boat before he said:

-Well what in heaven's name are you doing here, I don´t really believe it's healthy being out here.

I'll assist you one at a time into my boat.

Arni waited until the others had been assisted over to the other boat, and when their boat had almost gone down completely the life-saver took a hold on his jumper and picked him on board.

They buried their faces into the saviours jumper showing their gratitude, because if he hadn't arrived at the right moment all of them would have drowned.

-So so, he said, just be grateful for the fact I was late taking in my nets, because otherwise I would have made it home already and you'd be on the bottom of the ocean, hahahaha.

They couldn't really see the funny line, but thanked him incredibly nevertheless.

Rosa sent her thoughts to someone else also:

Thank you dear kind God, thank you for saving us.

The others had their own thoughts also but nobody said a thing, some cried, feeling grateful for their lives.

When they finally reached shore, a little crowd of people had gathered on the pier waiting for them.

The police was putting out their lifesavingboat going out to save them, but they'd probably would have been too late.

The kids got blankets around themselves, driven home, given a warm soup, and when they had dry clothes on their bodies, they were again feeling ok.

-Where's the fisherman and our saviour, Rosa asked.

-Oh..not very far away, but he had followed them and had been given some soup also and the parents' gratitude.

-What has happened to Jenna and co, Steini asked?

-I saw how they ran away just when we had reached land and they haven't returned again, Arni replied.

-Hey Arni dear, his mamma said, you are becoming sick my friend.

-Well it doesn't surprise me, the fisherman said, he had almost disappeared into the deep when I was able to get a hold on him and the fog was cold on our way to land.

-We must hurry home this minute, mamma said where I'll put you in bed.

-Yes he did help us first, Rosa said, he's a very brave boy.

The morning after Arni was in the hospital with pneumonia, but the children, his friends tried to be with him as much as possible.

To begin with he wasn't able to chat with them, for he was in some kind of a coma, and therefore they had to stay out on the corridor, until he started to feel better.

-And dear Arni you must remember, the doctor began and laughed out, you're not to swim in the cold sea this time of year.

He didn't really know the whole story about what had really happened, but was trying to light up the mood a little, and thus the kids became happier and started to laugh.

Arni returned pretty soon to his old self and having stayed a few days at home he could return to school and meet his friends anew.

Jenna and her friends kept low for a while but when they realized noone was going to charge them with anything and that noone really knew who were the real offenders they too returned to their old selves bugging Rosa and her friends.

But this time Rosa didn't take it so well.

-Do you want us to tell who untied the boat, she asked in a sophisticated manner.

The group went silent, but...

-You don't have any proof that we were there, Jenna yelled out and her face blew red.

-Yes but I do, Rosa told her with a calm voice, we were able to hear you and the police is just waiting for our report.

They suspect you but we haven't told them a thing yet.

At this moment one of the teachers comes running toward Rosa.

-You should go home my dear, because your mamma is about to have the baby and it has been decided that if you and Arni agree you are to stay at his house until your mamma returns home with the little child.

How do you like that?

Rosa yelled in her joy and told her friends about it.

When she came home, her mamma had left for the hospital and therefore she went straight home to Arni.

-Is it true that I'm to stay at your house until my pabbi's present comes along with my mamma to our home?

-Yes my dear and I must tell you how thrilled I am having you with us for a few days, Arni's mamma told her.

-When will we know whether it will be, Rosa asked, when will mamma return home, when can I go and see them?

Her questions were so many, that Arni's mamma couldn't help but laugh.

She and mamma had become good friends in the track of the adventure the kids had had.

-Your mamma is feeling good and the little baby is coming, you're to stay with me, if you agree that is.

And whenever she's allowed to get visits, I'm gonna take you there, eventhough I'll have to take you from class.

Would you like that?

-I do like that, Rosa told her over-joyd.

Imagine what an adventure this is, she added.

Pabbi has gone to God, but nevertheless God gave him permission to give us this great gift before he left.

-Yes, Arni's mamma said, the ways of our Lord are truly unpredictable, and you should thank Him for everything He's given you, just as I thank Him for giving my son such a fine friend like yourself.

-Lisa and Steini appreciate Him as well, ever since I introduced Him to them.

Arni saved our lives and almost lost his own doing it, Rosa said.

I don't think I ever met or read about such a good boy as him.

He's like my big brother whom I can always talk to about anything.

Despite him being of the same age and a lot wiser and better read, and being my best friend.

There's a lot I could thank for.

-Yes, the mamma said, but Arni has told me everything about how you came so well acquainted and that it should be you whom I should thank.

He has never had any friends until he met you, my dear, so I thank you.

But now you should return to school and when it's out today you must come home with Arni.

-Yes, Rosa replied, thank you, for I had been worrying about what I was to do while my mamma was on the hospital.

Rosa returned to school and told her friends about what was happening in her life and that she was going to stay at Arni's until her mamma and the little child came home.

They were all pleased with what she'd told them, especially Arni who was absolutely thrilled.

-What, are you supposed to live with me while your mamma's away, he asked all excited?

-Yes if you don't mind, Rosa said.

-Yes whether I'm pleased, Arni told her, flabbergasted.

Rosa living with him was more than he'd ever even dared to hope for.

-When will you be coming with me, Arni asked eagerly.

-Now after school, for mamma is on the hospital already, Rosa told him.

Arni became happier than the kids had ever witnessed before, but they could understand him Rosa being such a pretty and funny girl and the two of being such great friends.

Arni's mamma was waiting for them and told Rosa that there was a good going at the hospital, her mamma having strong and steady pains, thus giving hopes that the child would soon appear, probably in the evening or tonight.

Rosa was very pleased to hear this and asked God to keep an eye on them.

She has trouble falling asleep in the evening, but elevendish Arni's mamma appeared by her bed and took her in the arm.

-I congratulate you dear Rosa, you were gaining a wonderful little brother the other minute!!!!!!!!

Rosa got some kind of a shock, the news being so incredible, eventhough she'd been waiting for it the whole evening.

-But mamma, how is she feeling?

-She's alright and she's asked me to give you a kiss from her, and soon we will be allowed to visit them at the hospital.

Rosa was so happy that she didn't know what to do with herself;

a little brother has enriched her world.

A brother who was made by both her parents and they were feeling well.

She chatted for a long time with God that evening thanking Him, and then she chatted with her pabbi also.

-I'm feeling just like having gained a part in you again, dear pabbi, she told him.

-Yes that's for sure, pabbi replied, and he will become a good boy and you are going to help mamma nursing him, because she'll be very tired to begin with.

-Yes, you can trust me to be of help, Rosa informed him, thank you both.

-You know that I love you and you must never forget that I'll always be close to you.

-I know that my dear pabbi, because often I can feel you close to me, she replied.

Good night pabbi she said and kissed her finger before she blew it toward the stars.

-Good night my dear, pabbi said and then she crawled into the bed again and tried to fall asleep.

-Were you speaking to God.

Arni asked from the next bed.

-Yes and my pabbi, she replied.

-I wished I were able to chat with God, the way you do, Arni said.

-But you can, Rosa told him, for starters you just must believe that you're able to and when you are talking with Him then you will get the answer inside your head, do you understand?

-Ye, I think so, he replied, there are so many things I do need to discuss with Him.

-I'll try to help you if you'd like, she told him, but you must believe in Him and that He's always by your side.

-Yes, that's something you've proved before my eyes, he said, for if we hadn't prayed so strongly to Him in our peril at sea, probably we'd be dead now.

-That's true, she agreed, my pabbi had warned me about some peril and that only our faith would and could save us, and that's what really happened, didn't it?

-Yes, Arni said, I do believe that anyway.

Could you teach me how to reach a good contact with Him, just as you do?

-You've done that already, she told him, the only thing you must learn is to discriminate between your own wish and His answer.

-I'll try to follow your instructions, he said, because frequently I would love to get His assistance.

-Just as we all do, Rosa told him.

-Alright, Arni said, let's work on this together, you and I.

Good night dear Rose and thanks for everything.

-Likewise my dear Arni.

You are my best friend, Rosa told him before they both fell asleep and dreamt beautiful dreams.

The morning after Arni said:

-Thank you Rosa for what you told me yesterday, that everyone could chat with God, as long as we truly want to and believe in Him.

-Exactly my friend, as long as we trust in Him and His advices, then everything will go well.

For an instance when you don't know what to do in some dilemma, then you should start with a prayer, asking Him about what you should do, because if you feel bad in your bosom then it's certain you are on the wrong path, but if you´re feeling good about something, then you'll know what to do.

You should try this and when you've had some experience, we could carry on.

-You must know Rosa, that before I met you I never remembered about God.

Mamma taught me to say my prayers in the evenings, but I never really believed that there is a God, not until we had our peril at sea.

-Well my best friend, you know it now, Rosa told him.

The morning after when they'd returned home from school, Arni's mamma said:

-Well little Rosa, now I believe it's time for you to go visit your mamma and brother at the hospital.

-Wow, Rosa yelled out, can Arni come along?

-Yes, if you like, but I think it best that you'll be alone when you'll see your mamma but we'd join you when you'll go to see your brother.

-A ok, if Arni has a mind to?

-If I have a mind to, Arni asked feeling offended, of course I have a mind to, I can hardly wait to see the guy.

-Dear Arni, Rosa said, he's hardly any guy yet, just a little child with a crumpled face, at least that's what mamma informed me before she gave birth to him.

-Ok, Arni replied, but won't he become a real boy later on?

-Of course you cilly boy, it's really funny how little you boys know about little babies, she laughed.

Arni was a little hurt, but realized where she was going and laughed along with her.

-Now we shall go and buy flowers for your mamma that you're supposed to give her and when you've had your moment together, I and Arni will join you.

Then we can go and look at the little boy and after that we must return to your mamma just to gratulate her on her wonderful boy.

-But if he ain't wonderful, Arni asked?

-All small children are wonderful, Arni dear, but some people just aren't able to see it right away, his mamma reminds him.

In a short time they were inside the hospital.

Little Rosa ran straight into her mamma's arms.

-Oh, mamma dear, I'm so happy for the little brother you gave me;

I haven't seen him yet, but I'm sure I'll find him beautiful.

-Yes of course my dear, but you must remember that to begin with they are a little crumpled, but soon they will become incredibly beautiful.

-I'm awear of that, mamma dear, you have already informed me about it.

Here are the flowers Arni's mamma wants to give you from all of us, but now we are going to look at little brother and then we will visit you for a short while.

-Yes my dear, Arni's mamma is a wonderful person and Arni's a wonderful boy.

Rosa couldn't wait a moment longer, but ran out of the room and straight to Arni and his mamma and said:

-Well, let's go and see my boy.

They walked the corridors until they were able to locate the ward, where all the the newbornes were to be found, but having reached it there wasn't any nurse around who could show them the boy and so they waited.

Rosa looked at all the tiny children and realized what her mamma had meant, their faces were all crumpled more or less.

All of a sudden her heart stopped for a short moment.

She was able to see her pabbi inside the ward standing at one of the cradles and smiling toward her.

She stared at him feeling really astounded, but then he just disappeared.

She woke up in a short while.

-He's innermost, the one in the corner, don't you see it?

They looked at her surprisingly, questions in their eyes, but then the nurse came along and they told her which baby they wanted to see.

-Yes, the little cute one, replied the nurse, wait just for a moment while I get him.

Then she walked into the corner where Rosa had seen her pabbi and pulled out the cradle with the little boy.

Arni's mamma looked observantly on Rosa, finding it quite incredible that she could had seen the child from this distance, and even recognized it.

When the woman had brought the boy, Rosa instantly saw whom he would come to look like:

Her pabbi!

They were quite charmed looking at this little boy, who really was unique, being so beautiful.

-He will become just like my pabbi, Rosa stated.

The boy was looking at her with his deep beautiful eyes, at the same time most infants would keep their eyes closed.

It seemed like he was telling Rosa with his eyes:

-I've come to you my dear sister.

Rosa had tears in her eyes realizing:

These were her pabbi's eyes!

-Can I please take a look at the back of his head, she asked the nurse, who looked at her peculiarly, for no-one had ever asked her such a question before.

-Yes, of course, she finally replied and turned the boy.

-Yesss, Rosa said happily, just as I was thinking.

My pabbi's nape.

Arni and his mamma looked at her surprisingly, but didn't say anything.

Finally Arni's mamma said:

-He is wonderful!

-Yes, Arni agreed, and not crumpled at all.

-No, Rosa said, not crumpled, but exactly like my pabbi.

Then they returned to Rosa's mamma and praised the boy, and Arni's mamma presented her with a jumper, socks, mittens and a blanket, everything stylish for the boy.

-I will never be able to thank you sufficiently for everything, Rosa's mamma said, you've done for me.

-If someone has to thank somebody for anything, then it must be me, Arni's mamma told her, and when they looked into each other's eyes without a word they understood one another.
