Jon Jonsson junior decides to consult with the Beings.

He´s downcast, when he informs them that he won´t be able to serve his role as one of the Selected, if he won´t get money for food and debts of their home.

The Beings are truly astounded by his speech this time, for they really haven´t even a dog´s sense in financial matters or needing money just to be able to keep on living.

For many Earth´s centuries they haven´t had any
need for such a currency or anything like it.

The cosmetic power all around is sufficient for them.

They have to reach deep down into their memory- bank for the right information for this kid, who´s become the first of the Selected ones to mention this penomena in their presence.

-Could you use hypnotism, Jon is able to hear inside his head, where he´s sitting in the Beings´ reception-hall in the dairy-shed-ruins by Big Lake above Keflavik.

Still there´s not much that reminds one of the closeness of human settlement observed from the Lakes in the spring of 1975, except the fence of course, various drift-stuff that has stopped in the water and stock-fish hovels at some distance.

On a tiny rising in the land between the
settlement and the Lakes, which is just high enough to make it impossible to see them even on the rooftops of the highest houses by the streets of
Sudurvellir (southfields) or Heimavellir (home-), the
Water-works´contractors are building the foundation of a water-tower in the day-time.

Not mentioning the frequent take-offs and landings in the vicinity, both commercial and military.

Often the noise becomes so extreme and unbearable, especially when these man-made monsters turn their back-side towards the settlement.

Eventhough the air traffic normally is at its lowest in the evenings, when Jon has his meetings with his
supernatural educators, occasionally it happens that the Phantom-jets are started because of unwelcome visits from the Soviets into the Icelandic airspace.

When the pupil has sat down on the rock, which wasn´t very pleasant for long resting at the beginning, but now seems marked by much
sitting, it doesn´t fail that the thundering noise disappears instantly, when the Beings´ hall surrounds him.

Jon speculates about this hypnotism-suggestion whilst he follows the tiny mouth-movements of the three holographs infront of him.

He finds these movements quite humorous, for they remind him of his grandfather the late
Jon, whose mouth used to move this way, when he spoke with himself in a low tone.

Having returned home to his mother he tells her, that he´d changed his mind and wanted to get a job now, so that he might assist her in the battle with
the creditors or loan-sharks.

-What kind of a job do you think you might get? You´re too weak for any labour and lacking all education for an office-job, claims his mother
obviously not very optimistic on her son´s behalf. Had you only graduated from high school or gone to junior-college, my dear, then you´d possibly
have a chance of getting a job at the Savings-bank.

-Yes, The Savings-bank, Jon eats up after his pessimistic mother. I´ll go there in the morning, and when I´ll return I´ll have become a good and
legitimate employee there.

Isn´t it down by Sudurgata (southstreet) Jon asks remembering a visit there with his father when he was quite young.
