The next day Speedy Simon took the girls to a movie. When it was over, he took Slow Suzy to one of the best known beauty parlors in the city. That evening the three of them went to a small restaurant near the hotel. They had been seated and Speedy Simon had ordered food. Slow Suzy looked at the people and the decorations on the walls. She took her role as baby-sitter very seriously and followed Edith's every step, played with her and talked to her, answered her questions and read for her.
"Didn't you think the fox game yesterday was fun, Suzy?"
"Yes, it was really fun."
Edith looked at her father: "Can we play the fox game later?"
"Not tonight, maybe later."
"Why not now? It's so fun. Suzy also thought it was fun. Didn't you, Suzy?"
Slow Suzy smiled at Speedy Simon: "Yes, it was really fun."
"We're going to do something new tonight."
"What are we going to do tonight?" Edith pulled at the sleeve on her father's jacket. "Will it be fun?"
"Yes, it will be fun."
"What kind of fun?"
"Tonight, I'm going to be a magician."
"What about us?"
"Edith dear, you shall be the magician's assistant."
"What about Suzy? What should she be?"
"The magician and his assistant are going to change Suzy into a princess, a beauty queen."
Edith looked at Suzy's face: "Is that possible?"
"Yes, it's possible," said Speedy Simon as he stood up from the table.
