Let me tell you what I saw, I live with my mom in an house that was built in the 40's, in Hasbrouck Heights NJ. The house belonged to an old woman Mrs. Prudon and her husband was already dead when my family bought the house. My father had a heart attack and died 11 years later in a hospital in 1995.

'It's funny how the idea for a short story arrives! I was caught in a traffic jam on a early Friday afternoon and found myself watching through my mirror a couple (the hero and heroine) in the car behind'.
'It looked like a lunch time office date that had gone a bit wrong. He was a lot older and was much keener on the idea of romance than she'.
'From this observed mini drama came thoughts of ghostly love and mystery and'Forever Flying Free'- although, in retrospect, it's hard to connect the two'.

I sat on Thorncombe Barrow, above the village of Bicknoller in the Quantock Hills in Somerset wondering if they would come tonight. I was waiting for the appearance of the Yeth Hounds, those strange ghostly creatures whom I believed had laid their curse on me many years before.
I first heard about the Yeth Hounds when I was a teenager. A gang of us had gone into the Carew Arms in the village of Crowcombe, which was frequented back in the sixties manly by hill farmers and old shepherds. Earthy men descended from generations of West Somerset folk who lived, worked and breathed the air of the Quantocks, men whose very souls were born out of the combes and covers on the hills. Men who knew no other life, nor had any desire to.

AN ITALIAN DREAM
Mary Marshall was 36 today. She was contentedly single - if someone special came along, fine; if not, also fine! Children would be nice, but if it didn't happen, it would not be the end of the world.
She felt her life was a bit mediocre, but so were those of her friends. Married or single, they went to work, came home, did the usual mundane things, and life sort of doddled along. She did not feel that she was missing anything, but sometimes, on birthdays for example, she wondered if perhaps there was something she should be missing!
She strolled along to Finnegans, the local supermarket, where she was a checkout girl, still deep in thought. Someone nudged her, and broke her train of thought. Startled, she turned, to see her friend, June Parry. They usually met near this particular spot; June also worked at Finnegans.

Stephen stubbed out the cigarette butt and immediately lit another from my fireplace. This was something else new. The Stephen that I knew would never smoke.
He sat back in the armchair, took a long draw, and exhaled slowly, relishing in the pattern of swirling smoke lit up by the fire. 'Yes, I know I haven't been in contact for a long, long time. I'm sorry, I really am. But there has been a good reason.'
Since I had known him at college, his appearance and manner had changed drastically, and unfortunately not for the better. His athletic figure and strong cheekbones had wasted away over the years, leaving a somewhat shriveled impression, and a mess of uneven stubble shadowed his features. He used to be very well dressed, a far cry from the faded, torn jeans and jacket he now wore. It was probably just the way he held himself, but when I first opened the door to him, he had looked much smaller than the towering rugby player that I had once known.

Sergeant Walter Eaton stood at the Police Station reception desk busying himself with whatever it is that Police do when they're manning reception, when a person literally walked in through the door.
Now, to clarify, the door was never opened and there was no gap for anybody to climb in through.
He actually passed through the wood without causing any damage at all.
The man walked over to Walter and said: "I'm here to report a murder."

I recently took a renewed interest in the occult when talking with my friend about some strange experiences he had while visiting Brazil. I came across your website today and I find it very interesting. And so, I have had one indisputable paranormal experience I'd like to share with you and also send you the pics, which (in my opinion) are sort of amazing.
My experience took place at Bachelor's Grove cemetery here near Chicago where I live back in July of 01. I'm sure you know about Bachelor's Grove, since it's in your database, so I won't explain anything about the location.

Forest Park Cemetery, also known as Forest Hills Cemetery and Pinewoods Cemetery to the locals is a fairly well-known New York haunted site, mostly because of a 1980 article published in Life Magazine that said it was one of the top ten haunted places in the United States.
Because of financial difficulties over the years, the cemetery has fallen into a disgraceful state of disrepair.

If you happen to find yourself in southern New Hampshire at some point soon, do stop in at Gilson Road Cemetery and take a look around, day or night.
This small cemetery has been carefully studied by many knowledgeable ghost hunters, virtually all of whom detect a palpable energy at the site.
Don't go alone, especially at night because people are prone to freaking out here, with many reports of them hearing or feeling a "get out of here" kind of energy that they feel compelled to obey.

Ball Cemetery is an old graveyard in Springfield, Nebraska that is fairly isolated and that really doesn't have a very interesting history - except maybe for genealogists looking for dead relatives.
There is no history of violence or sudden deaths connected to this cemetery that we are aware of, and at first, we nearly discounted it as a valid haunting.

In May, 1986, two night watchmen witnessed the apparition of a "Lady in White" hovering over a piano in the third floor lounge of this hotel.
They believed that this apparition belonged to Percie Knowles, the wife of the man who built the hotel in 1900.
Only her upper body materialized, and for several minutes she stared directly at the two guards, giving them enough time to grab a camera from a nearby table and snap a photograph.
Other guests had reported her ghostly apparition, but this was the first time the Lady in White had ever been photographed.

Lighthouses tend to be lonely, desolate, eerie places, so it's no wonder that many of the old lighthouses that dot our shores have legends of long-time ghosts and hauntings, and the Seguin Island Light is no exception.
The Seguin Island Light was first built in 1797.
The structure has was replaced in 1820, and again with the present structure in 1857.
The light was manually monitored until it was automated in 1985.
It is the highest elevated lighthouse in Maine, standing a little over 180 feet above sea level.

The Eldridge Hotel is the only business in Lawrence, Kansas that has been doing business since before Kansas was admitted to the Union.
The building itself has been destroyed and rebuilt (with many associated deaths) several times in the last hundred and fifty years or so, with the five story building today built in 1926 and reopened in its present form in 1986.

Bachelors Grove Cemetery
This desecrated graveyard, established in 1864, was named after the many unmarried men that once lived in this vicinity and has gained the reputation for being the most haunted cemetery in the Chicago area. Apparently this site was used as a dumping grounds for the victims murdered by the 1920's gangsters, and as you look around you quickly realize how poorly treated and abused this site actually is. There are only a few remaining monuments left - most of them on the eastern side - while all of the western side is empty except for a single marker left in the Southwest corner. The cemetery was abandoned in 1965.

Idaho City is a well-preserved old west gold rush town with an interesting, though often violent past.
Vigilantism was common here, and the townspeople were quick to hang lawbreakers without benefit of a trial.

Georgia Hauntings
Ghostly phenomena in Chickamauga runs the gamut of the supernatural spectrum, including sightings of orbs, and vortexes, ghostly figures, glowing eyes, rustling bushes with no apparent cause, odd sounds, gunshots (no hunting is allowed anywhere near this large area), and occasional disembodied voices.

The Governor's Mansion - "Woodburn"
By far, the most famous haunted place in Delaware is the Governor's mansion, called Woodburn.
The house was built in 1790 and served at one point as a stop on the underground railway for escaping slaves via a tunnel dug from the basement to the St. Jones River.
Ghostly sightings have occurred here for hundreds of years, and include an elderly man who may be the original owner of the house, a man with an old-time powdered wig who seems to like vintage wines, a small female child, and a slave who was accidentally hung when he got caught in the branches of an old poplar tree in the yard.

The Masonic Cemetery is reportedly haunted by the ghost of a woman wearing a black satin dress.
She is seen placing blue columbine flowers on the grave of young John Edward Cameron, who died unexpectedly on November 1, 1887 of heart paralysis.
This beautiful lady in black appears twice a year - on April 5 and November 1 - and places the flowers on Cameron's grave.
The town residents, who have been well aware of her from the beginning, originally had no idea who she was, and by 1899, she was well known locally as a phantom.

My trip to the Queen Mary was not just fun but historical as well.
I wasn’t sure what to expect upon my arrival, I had only heard stories about the magnitude of this ship.

The Sloss Furnaces are undoubtedly the most famous and haunted place in the central Alabama area.
The story here is that for years a cruel foreman on the midnight shift at the furnaces worked his men relentlessly under grueling conditions, with temperatures often rising above 120 degrees.
This resulted in an unusual number of deaths on that shift, causing the company to eventually do away with it altogether.

THE SECRET OF A CARVING
Above the fireplace in the Old Oak Room at Carbrook is a carving.
It depicts the figure of a medieval priest stepping upon the figure of a naked woman;
with the curious distinction that the woman appears to have grown a tail.
The accepted explanation is that it is a nun who has fallen into disgrace by succumbing to fleshly temptation and the motto associated with this carving is:
"Wisdom trampling upon ignorance"

SIX TROOPERS
Some distance from old Carbrook hall on a dark frosty morning a small light could be seen flickering warmly in the tiny window of a small cottage nestling in the gloomy shadows of a clump of oak trees.
A faint wisp of wood smoke swirled from it's chimney set in the roughly thatched roof.
The smoke barely moved, so still was the early morning air and none but the faintest breeze was seen to do more than make a ripple on the deep sea of icy mist which seemed to carpet the entire common and shimmer in the waning moonlight.
Inside the cottage, an elderly couple, Tom and Bess Webster, anxiously waited for the sun to rise.
It was winter, 1644.
