Illinois-08-16-08-I was watching the 2008 Chicago Air and Water Show at Lake Michigan. I was at Fullerton street about 30 feet from the water. I was watching a Navy F/A 18 doing maneuvers. I was using binoculars to watch planes when they went higher or further away. The F/A 18 did a maneuver that took it vertically straight up in the sky, and then it did a stall holding its position for a short while.
As it was going up, I used my binoculars to keep track of it. While I was watching it, I noticed two objects in the sky above the plane. They were hovering motionless, and I was surprised to see them. The distance from these objects and the F/A 18 was hard to tell, but they were not very close. The pilot of the F/A 18 would have seen them since he was headed right for them, but did the stall before getting too close. source: www.mufon.com
Illinois-08-29-08-I was driving west bound on Golf Road going to Hooters by Woodfield mall. I noticed a silver disc come into my view. As a point of reference, it was about 2 inches higher then the street lights. It was very, very shiny, and a different luster then your typical airplane, that's why I noticed it.
It hovered there for about a minute or two then went out, it almost appeared as if it dissolved from the outside really fast. I was watching it at a stoplight. The sky was very clear with little to no cloud cover. It had no FAA lights on it that were visible. source: www.mufon.com
Oregon-08-11-08-My wife, a friend, and myself were sitting on our back porch enjoying the evening air and sky when my wife gasped and asked, "What's that?" as she pointed toward a white sphere to the north of us. It traveled in a linear path south to north, but seemed much larger than a normal satellite crossing the night sky. It flared out like a light bulb when its given way too much juice, stayed brilliant and the size of a dime held in my hand at arm's length, then went back to its original brightness of about the size of a popcorn kernel at arm's length, then in a few seconds simply disappeared.
The next evening I was outside on my back porch about the same time and noticed the exact same object to the north but flying in a curved fashion start out as a kernel of light, to the dime sized light, then to the kernel again and vanish. I felt as if I was watching something unusual and debated whether or not to tell about the sighting. source: www.mufon.com
Pennsylvania-08-31-08-My son and I were on our back porch looking at the stars, and as I was looking to the northwest, I saw an object that appeared to be stationary like a star but it seemed to be pulsating. My son commented that it was sometimes red, sometimes blue, and sometimes white, and I concurred. I then sent him in for binoculars as I continued to observe the object. After getting the binoculars, I focused in and indeed it was flashing red, blue, and white, and it wasn't actually stationary but moving about very fast in a tight area.
The other celestial objects near this thing were not squiggly-looking, so it ruled out us making it do that with the binoculars and to be sure we steadied them on a railing, and the object continued to move erratically. This thing definitely did not look like anything any of us have ever seen before. I tried to take a photo, but the object was too far away. Truly freaky! source: www.mufon.com
Texas-07-20-08-I was looking to the west after sunset because I had taken some pictures of the sunset, then took the camera in and sat it down. Since it was so warm that evening I decided to sit on the front porch and cool down some, and looking to the west at about 10 o'clock high I see this fairly big object coming down really fast then all of a SUDDEN it lit up in this long bluish/green color and became a bright UFO about 15 seconds then just disappeared.
I don't think it was going fast enough to burn up, as I've seen meteors shoot by up high and at shallow angles, but this was about 10 degrees off being straight down. I know you are probably thinking that it might be fireworks or something like that, but I know the difference, and this wasn't that. It was close enough that I would have heard the launch in the form of a boom. source: www.mufon.com
That will close things out for this week, but check back next week for more UFO sighting reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies.
