The food in famous paintings of the meal has grown by biblical proportions over the last millennium, researchers report in a medical journal Tuesday.

Using a computer, they compared the size of the food to the size of the heads in 52 paintings of Jesus Christ and his disciples at their final meal before his death.

If art imitates life, we're in trouble, the researchers conclude. The size of the main dish grew 69 percent; the size of the plate, 66 percent, and the bread, 23 percent, between the years 1000 and 2000.

Friends,

I'd like to have a word with those of you who call yourselves Christians (Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Bill Maherists, etc. can read along, too, as much of what I have to say, I'm sure, can be applied to your own spiritual/ethical values).

In my new film I speak for the first time in one of my movies about my own spiritual beliefs. I have always believed that one's religious leanings are deeply personal and should be kept private. After all, we've heard enough yammerin' in the past three decades about how one should "behave," and I have to say I'm pretty burned out on pieties and platitudes considering we are a violent nation who invades other countries and punishes our own for having the audacity to fall on hard times.

   Some believe there isn't, but most "thinking" Icelanders refuse those negative thoughts wholeheartedly.

 

   Our religious  countrymen believe that there are many proofs of eternal life for true Christians in the blessedness by God´s side in Heaven, wherever it may be located.

The Way We All Go

Just as every wise human is aware of we are all headed for a very long journey via six Heavens, when we will die, before reaching the seventh Heaven, where we will get the long desired diffusion with the pantheon, the nature viz. 

 

      Our souls will have to dwell unequally long in each of the six Heavens making the departed´s dwelling often quite a hardship, but longest and most difficult in the first Heaven which we will enter right after our death.

We're a rugged breed, us quads. If we weren't, we wouldn't be around today. Yes, we're a rugged breed; in many ways, we've been blessed with a savvy and spirit that isn't given to everybody.
And let me say that this refusal of total or full acceptance of one's disability all hooks up with one thing -- faith, an almost divine faith.
Down in the reception room of the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, over on the East River at 400 East 34th Street in New York City, there is a bronze plaque that's riveted to the wall. During the months of coming back to the Institute for treatment - two and three times a week - I rolled through that reception room many times, coming and going.

Believe nothing, O monks, merely because you have been told it . . . or because it is traditional, or because you yourselves have imagined it.

 

The truth usually surfaces sooner or later regardless of how carefully concealed it is.  One of the most stunning truths imaginable has been hidden so well for the last 2000 years that we have not caught a glimpse of its light until the recently surfaced Gospel of Judas.  This gospel suggests, among other things, that all generations of people have sat in judgment of Judas based simply on information given to the masses by the most powerful church on earth.  In reading this newly surfaced Gospel, and then reading Bishop Irenaeus' scathing rejection of it in 180 A.D., as well as his scathing rejection of all gnostic teachings (personal knowing of the divine), one wonders if this is the tip of the most unfathomable iceberg that ever was.  What else has been kept hidden from us by those in control of church and state?  Were we told the truth about the identity of Jesus - or was his identity reinvented?  If his identity was reinvented, then it appears that humanity's spiritual identity was reinvented as well.

 

 

 

We happen to be so terribly naive that if some statement gets repeated often enough we start to believe it as being true, even though there´s no way of proving it true or false.

This weakness of us humans, many crazy men have utilized throughout the ages, either for their own profit or for a vanity reason as getting respect from their own fellow citizens.

The sick room is full of machinery droning on endlessly with a kind of white noise. 

 

The attendant has dozed off, but suddenly awakens, and in the dim morning light notices a figure standing near the dying person. 

 

Startled and frightened, the attendant is frozen in awe.
